Patented WedgeLock Mechanism
WedgeLock refers to our patented “anti-wobble” mechanism. By utilizing a large nut and bolt (part of the WedgeLock bracket), the Carrier is forced into your hitch receiver. The WedgeLock bracket has a tapered collar, so when forced into the hitch receiver, the Carrier becomes wedged tight. This eliminates any flop or play within the receiver, resulting in a rock-solid attachment. This process is quick and easy – no additional tools required!

There are some limitations to the Carrier depending on a number of factors. Tongue-weight capacity (see chart above) is the main one. Other variables include: location of the hitch (flush with bumper or behind); ground clearance of the hitch (minimum clearance depends on type of vehicle and driving style – usually 12” is the minimum); impediments to loading such as spare tires, ladders, etc.; and strength of individual.
